<essays> Art connects to the world?! (1)
For Chisai, she is good at writing essays, but she doesn't like it. Because she earns money by writing, hahaha. What do you think after reading it, please tell her.
Hi there, I am Chisai. Before I went to bed yesterday , around 1:30 am (Japan time), I checked my "Xiao Hong Shu 小红书". Then, this picture came out.
Takashi Murakami in Xiao Hong Shu
This is posted by Japanese famous artist “Takashi Murakami” in Xiao Hong Shu. It says, “I came to Xiao Hong Shu!” with his smile and “Hi, I am Takashi Murakami”. His solo exhibition “Takashi Murakami Mononoke Kyoto”will start next weekend in Kyoto, Japan. Perhaps yesterday was the day when the information was lifted, and he posted in Chinese on this “Xiao Hong Shu”.
What? Don't you know "Xiao Hong Shu"? It is one of China's SNS. If you go to Mainland China, you will find "I can't open Facebook or Instagram". Instead, there are a number of unique Chinese SNSs. Famous SNS in China “TikTok”, you know, is video SNS. Xiao Hong Shu has images and sentences, many young Chinese like to use it. I have been recommended by such young Chinese to install and sometimes post.
After posting, I often get comments and messages. When I say "I'm Japanese", they reply, "Why do Japanese use Xiao Hong Shu?" Like this, even in neighboring countries, few people use Chinese SNS.
Chisai’s Xiao Hong Shu
Murakami's posting on "Chinese SNS for Chinese people by Chinese language in China" is very interesting. As expected of a global Murakami, he knows his needs and marketing well. Not only Japanese, but people all over the world probably think that posting on Facebook and Instagram will have promotional effects. This is not correct; we don't forget special situation in China.
By the way, when I was sleeping, after 4 am Japan time, one of my Chinese friends (she was 3 am in Beijing Time) forwarded Murakami's Xiao Hong Shu and asked me if I had seen his post. Hahaha, it seems to have had a promotional effect right away, good job Murakami!
Another one. Today, I was looking at other people's Facebook posts that I don't usually see. A Japanese posted the link, "I'm going to this exhibition!". I opened it.
Website of The National of Western Art
This is website about upcoming exhibition in the National of Western Art, Tokyo, Japan. I wanted to tell some foreign friends because I think it is interesting exhibition title. Please click “language”. But they have no English website except information about current and collection exhibition. It is a pity that this museum is “National” and “Western” museum!
Is it true that internet has been connected to the world for a quarter of a century? Everyone can know information about art from all over the world, but does it come from just your thinking? Every day I receive news from museums and galleries in China, Korea and Taiwan (and Japan). "Painting" and "Techniques" are only spoken in Japan. The "art", however, each of these countries also has big differences. Is your "art" connected to the world? I will continue to observe a little more.
This is what I love about China – the contradictions! 小红书, the much-revered text of the masses during the Cultural Revolution, is now a platform for selling luxury goods and celebrating the individual! Thanks, Chisai, for introducing me to this social media platform.
